Marie Comer obtained a Master’s degree in Languages & Literature (French-Spanish) at Ghent University in 2014, followed by a Ph.D. in Romance Linguistics in 2018. In addition, she followed several courses of the Postgraduate in Computer-Assisted Translation and Language Mediation during her thesis years in Ghent, Belgium.
Cultivating a great intellectual curiosity and being at ease in an international environment, her professional experiences as a postdoctoral researcher led her first to work at the University of Graz (Austria) and at UC Berkeley (USA), before moving to France last year.
After several work experiences in market research, sales and customer service in the business consultancy, agri-food and medical sectors, she decided to realize a long cherished project: starting her own translation agency. In 2021, she created Codex Translations, offering a wide range of linguistic services, including translation, revision, proofreading, (copy)writing, editing, subtitling, reporting and transcription.
